Mr. and Mrs. George Older celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary New Year’s 
night at the home of their daughter, Mrs. J. H. Kistler, 470 Taggert street, 
with a family reunion. They were married at Danville, Ill., and came to 
Portland in 1885. Mr. Older is a veteran of the Civil War, having served as a 
member of Company K, 135th Illinois Infantry. He is past commander of Sumner 
Post, No. 12, Grand Army of the Republic, and Mrs. Older is a past president 
of Sumner Women’s Relief Corps, a charter member of the corps and past 
department treasurer of the state.

Mr. Older is 79 and Mrs. Older 71 years of age. There are four children - 
Samuel, William. Louis, George Older and Mrs. J.H. Kistler.  Mr. and Mrs. 
Older received many felicitations from members of the Grand Army of the 
Republic and Women’s Relief Corp of the city.
