Suit for $200 damages was filed in the State Circuit Court yesterday by Lida 
Dawson against Multnomah County,on account of personal injuries sustained in 
falling into a hole at the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Marguerite 
avenue.Mrs.Dawson says in her complaint that she was waling along Hawthorne 
avenue on the night of December 13,1903,and at point near Margeurite avenue 
ans was precipitated into a deep hole,and her bones of her ankle were broken 
and she was otherwise injured.The county is sued because Hawthorne avenue at 
this point is alleged to be a county road,and the county is said to have been 
negligent in permitting the excavation to remain open.
