Seventeen year Old Girl Elopes With a Juggler
After writing a note to her parents om which she stated that she was going to 
see the world,Charlotte Brown, the pretty 17 year old daughter of Edgar 
Brown,living at Kelos,Wash.,left her home Friday night in company with an 
actor man whom she met while he was playing in her home town.Her father 
appeared at the police station last night and told of his stern chase after 
the couple,who he believes to be in Portland.
Brown said that he worked on the steamer,Kellogg,and that he was away from 
home a great part of the time.Last week there was in Kelso an aggregation 
headed by a clever juggler. Brown took his daughter to the show  the first 
night,and afterward departed on the steamer.It appears that his daughter met 
the juggler in some manner after her father's departure,and that the first 
meeting was followed by others. The girl was an innocent who had seen little 
of the world,and the tales which the actor man told her made quite an 
impression.He finally persuaded her to leave her home and depart with 
him.Friday evening and packed her clothing,wrote a note to her father,and 
slipped aaway.
When the father returned he found his daughter missing and learned where she 
had gone.He immediately started in pursuit.He tracked the two from place to 
place,and finally lost the trail when they arrived in this city,and he stated 
to Captain Moore last night that he thought his daughter to benow in 
Portland,in company with the juggler.She is described as small fro her age and 
dark complexioned,with black eyes and blsck hair.Detectives were assigned to 
the case.
