He threatened the lives of his family, and attempted to demolish the furniture.Schacht is a teamster, and is well known and universally liked among others of his craft. Schacht has complained for the past three days of not feeling well, and announced several times after work, that he wished he did not have to work the next day.His family laid his complaints to stomach trouble, from which Schacht has suffered for several years, and thought the spell momentary. Yesterday evening Schacht returned form work at the usual time.He complained as soon as he entered the house of pains in the head and stomach, and stated that he had suffered all day from the heat.He ate little food at supper time, and afterward sat on the porch in front of the house. His family joined him after the household work was done.Mrs.Schacht noticed that her husband acted peculiarly, but said nothing to him about it,thinking that he was suffering from his old malady. About 10 o'clock, just as the family was about to retire for the night,Schacht suddenly became violent. He drove his family into the house and threatened to kill them and demolish the house.Mrs.Schacht's screams attracted the attention of the neighbor's, who hastened to see the cause of the cries. They secured Schacht and telephoned the police station. The wagon was sent to the scene and Schacht was taken to City Jail.He became more quiet after being incarcerated, and finally dropped asleep in his cell.A physician who was called stated that he thought Schacht's attack due to the heat, especially as Schacht was obliged to do some heavy work yesterday unsheltered from the sun.
