Oe of the trains was loaded with logs, while the other carried freight.Just how the trains came to be on the same track cannot be sttaed,as th emen refuse to commit themselves pending an official inquiry. All agree, however, that the accident would have been much more serious but for the prompt action of the engineers, who reversed the engines. One of the men,William Judd, was employed by the Deep River Logging Company.Another,John Brown, was visiting at the camp, while a third,James Harveuy,is a resident of Deep River. Jdd's leg is broken, and he is otherwise injured. Brown suffered serious injury to hsi arms and legs, while Harvey's ribs are fractured and there is a deep gash on his leg.He is also cut about the head. The fourth man,a Finn,is unconscious, and his name cannot be learned onight. he is quite badly hurt, having been cut on the head. The boy was riding on one of the engines when the collsion occurred. The little fellow was badly injure,bu was conscious up to the time he was placed on the operating table. Both legs were broken, and he was probably also internally injured. He died while being operated upon.It is believed tonight all of the men will recover, although the Finn is badly injured.Several other persons were lso hurt, but not seriously. The injnured men were brought to the city in a motor fishboat, and suffered greatly during the long lapse of time between the accident and their arrival here.
