Smith,of Akron,O.,Succeeds Rv.L.M.Boozer Rev.T.J. Smith,of Akron,O, has just been appointed and accepted the pastorate of the First Evangelical Church, East Tenth and Sherman streets,and Rev.H.L.Pratt,presiding elder for Portland district,has written requesting him to enter on his his work here by the first of October,Rev.C.C.Poling,D.D..,formerly of Portland,but now of Johnston,Pa.,wites pf Rev.Smith that he is an able man and well fitted for the First Church.It will be remembered that Rev.M.L.Boozer resigned from his church to become a Presbyterian. The plan is to sell the present church property and erect a new and more modern building.in this plan Bishop Dubbs is interested,and Presiding Elder Pratt says he has hopes of making this change in a few months.It will not be undertaken now before the new pasor arrives.
