No one present was able to tell exactly how the accident happened, and Mrs.Lanning herself stated that she did not know exactly what caused her to fall, but it is supposed she attempted to leave the car just as the signal was given to go ahead. She was thrown heavily to the pavementandshe was momentarily stunned. At first it was supposed that her injuries were serious. Dr.A.C.Panton was called and after the examination ordered the patient removed to Good Samaritan Hospital. It waas found there that while the injuries were painful they were not serious.Though Mrs. Lanning was badly bruised no bones were fractured, and it is not thought that she suffered internal injuries.
