Games and refreshements were thoroughly enjoyed by the little folks. Those present were: Misses Mamie Rodgers, Hilda Waldon, Vesta Broughton, Eulalie rand, Grace Marshall, Bessie Sampson, Hattie Church, Maude Cooke, Irene McCown, Geraldine McCown and Masters Roy Kelly, Kenneth La Tourente, Thilow Rands, Wilfred White and Will Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. William Hawley entertained a number of friends in a charming manner at their residence on Washington street, Wedneday evening. M.Dller and E.E.Charman, accompanied by Miss June Charman, returned from a few days visit at Corvallis yesterday. Mrs.Charles Bray and A.G.White, from Settle, are visiting their father, Judge W.L.White, who has been quite ill for several weeks. Mrs.R.C.Shepard, of Baker City, spent Wednesday and Thirsday in the city visiting friends. Mr. ad Mrs. J.A.C.Brain returned last Sunday from a week's visit with relatives near Walla Walla. Dr.Harry Wall, of Portland, removed to this city during th epast week to establish himself here permanently. Mr.N.J. O'Brien, of Cheyenne,Wyo., arrived here last Thursday. He is here on business connected with the interior department. Judge Langhorn, of Chehalis, who has been holding court during Judge Wiswall's absence, left for home last Monday, leaving a clear dockett. Miss fay Rosenstein gave an auction party to a number of her little friends Tuesday afternoon at her hom ein East Eighteenth and East Pine streets,it being the 12th anniversary of her birth. The house and table decoratiosn were beautiful. Covers were or 12. The table fairly groaned under the good things for the little folks, to which all did justice. R.R.Erwin has gone to California on business. He will be absent about three weeks. Harry Bulger has gone East to visit the world's fair. His wife will join him in about three weeks. Mrs.J.C.Jameson and her daughter returned from New York this week, where they spent the winter. Miss Leona Phillips has returned, after an absence of two years where she has been attending school. Mrs.E.M. Bloomer, and sister, Miss Kitty Clark, of Denver,Colo., are visi their old friends, Mr. and Mrs. G.P. Walliban, of Woodlawn. Colonel Bacon, the new department inspector., arrived here with his family last Thursday and is temporarily quartered in the Hotel Columbia. Judge and Mrs.B.F.Dennison, of Olympia, have been visiting friends in this city during the last week. They are enroute to the Eastern states. Mrs.J.Ewing, of Woodlawn, gave a very enjoyable whist party on Thursday evening, the guests being Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, Mr. and Mr. Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Walliban, Mrs. Bloomer and Miss Clark, of Denver,Colo., and Mr. W.B.Gage. Miss Lillie Willison, who has been in poor health for several months past, left for the east last week in the hope of deriving some benefit from the trip. She will pass a part of the summer with friends in Rockport,Mo., where her father, Rev.W.A.Willison, was formerly pastor of the First M.E.church.
