The Oregonian April 25, 1893
The case of M.F.Prince against Marion Johnson and his wife, Mary Johnson, went 
to trial before Judge Shattuck yesterday. The plaintiff seeks to recover 
$1,000 on a promissory note which, it is alleged, was executed by the 
defendants to Ezra Durand and by him assigned to Prince. Mr. Johnson claimed 
that the signatures were forged and refused to pay the note. The case will be 
resuemd this morning.
