Morning Oregonian August 4, 1904
Charles Foss found himself riding along in the hurry up wagon last night about 
three minutes after he tried to rob a bunch of half doped and half sleeping 
Chinamen in a house near the corner of First and Columbia streets. He was 
accompanied in his raid by Frank Lamb,who was not arrested.The facts of the 
case show the chief assault to have been made by the Chinamen,who dragged long 
knives out of their jackets and drove their would be robbers before them to 
the door.
