The Oregonian April 25, 1893
Ed Kopishki and Chris Wohlgemoth, newsboys, not over 12 years of age, were up 
in the police court yesterday on a charge of stealing Oregonian from 
doorsteps. Both admitted the offence and between their sobs declared that they 
would never commit theft again. The parents of the boys were in court and 
stated that they would not permit the boys to sell papers again, but would 
send them to school and keep them at home mornings and evenings. Judge Carey 
then gave them a little lecture and permitted them to go home.
