Copple, 1164 East Glisan street, Portland, yesterday, aged 76 years. He was born in Wappelo county, Iowa, May 17, 1846, and was married November 29, 1866, to Louisa Jane Ruckman. He arrived in Union county, Oregon, June 7, 1872, where until his retirement in 1898, he engaged in extensive farming. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Mary M. Copple, Charles E. Cochran, assistant general attorney Oregon- Washington Railroad & Navigation company of Portland, and George T. Cochran, state water superintendent and a member of the law firm of Cochran & Eberhard of La Grande, Or., and by three brothers; Rufus and William of Seymour, Ia., and Milton D. of Starbuck, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Florence Johnson, also of Seymour, Ia. Mr. Cochran, in the active years of his life was on of the leading citizens of Union county, Oregon.
