Death of Well Known Musician- One of the best known musicians in Western 
Oregon, and an excellent clarinet player,Peter Damphoffer,46 years old,died 
yesterday morning at his home in the northwest corner of Third and Burnside 
streets,from Bright's disease,after six week's illness.He was born at The 
Dalles,and for 12 years was a musician in the Untied States Army,being well 
remembered as a member of the Twenty First United States Infantry Band. For a 
period he was stationed at Vancouver Barracks,in which town he was married,27 
years ago,to Miss Ella Quigley,who survives him,along with two married 
daughters,Mrs.Harry Linley, and Mrs.Ed Wyncoop.Mr.Damphoffer has played for 20 
years in nearly every theater orchestra in Portland,where he was much esteemed 
for his many good qualities.The funeral will take place at 9 o'clock tomorrow 
morning from Finlay & Son's undertaking parlors,Third and Madison streets.
