Roseburg,Ore.,Aug.1-(Special) Mrs.Hulda E.Hoover,72 years old,a member of an 
esteemed pioneer family,died here at noon yesterday.She wa sthe widow of 
Dr.G.W.Hoover,who came to California in 1850and settle din Roseburg in 
1851.Mrs.Hoover married her husband at Hanover,Mo.,when she was but 16 years 
old,and became the mother of a sturdy pioneer family;Dr.E.B.Hoover,the Mayor 
of Roseburg;Mrs.A.J.Burnett,who died in California;William Hoover,now 
dead;Eugene Hoover,of Medford;Mrs.Rse E.Mensor,of Seattle;Clarence Hoover,now 
dead;and G.W.Hoover,who has held a position with Hexter,May & Co.,of this 
city,for 20 years.Mrs.Hoover's husband died October 12,1886.Mrs.Hoover had a 
most excellent memory,and she was often consulted for data referring to 
various matters connected with the Indian Wars,and was always prompt with fact 
and date.
