He was born at Knocknalossat, County Cavern, Ireland, July 31, 1824. He came to this country in November, 1848, and lived in Philadelphia. He was married in June, 1852, to Jane Egars Prosser. He removed to Hanover, Ill. In September, 1859, where he lived with his wife until they came to Portland, in November, 1903, since when they have resided here. In 1862, he enlisted in the Ninety-sixth Regiment of Illinois Infantry, Company F, and served until 1865, when he was honorably discharged. He is survived by his wife and other relatives, also hosts of friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held at Finley’s Chapel, yesterday morning, and interment was in Lone Fir Cemetery.
