All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com September 18, 2007, 6:23 am Oregonian April 7,1893 A Fatal Fall Florian Sprauer Tumbles Off The Roof Of A Building Florian Sprauer,a German carpenter,aged about 53 yers,fell from the top of the Sheeland house,on Hood dtreet,where he was at work,about 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning,and sustaine injuries resulting in his death four hours later.He was engaged in repairing the roof,whne his feet slipped.He fell a distance of about 40 feet,striking on his left side.Nearly every rib was broken and a deep indentation made.His left arm and wrist were also brokn.He was badly injured internally,and it was this that caused hus death. Sprauer lived at Gibbs and Kelly streets,and leaves a wife ands several children. Coroner Hughes was notified of the occurrece and,after making an incestigation,concluded that there was no necessity for going to the expense of holding an inquest,and gave permission to have the body buried.
