South Bend,Wash.,Oct.27-(Special)- Mathias West, an old time resident of South 
Bend,died Sunday night of paralysis. deceased was nearly 66 years of age and 
came to this counry in 1886 and filed on a homestead,part of which is a 
portion of South Bend. he realized considerable money from the sale of town 
lots,but lost it all in business during the hard times.
