Morning Oregonian november 19,1904
Judge george yesterday granted Rosa Mantello a divorce fro Raffaelo Mantello 
because of cruel treatment. Mrs. Mantello told a long story of the manner in 
which her husband slapped, kicked and beat her on many occasions; also that 
heh threatened ot kill her several time, choked her and once injured her so 
badly that she had to be taken to St.Vincent's Hospital for treatment. They 
were married in May,1900,in Portland, and have one child,who was awarded to 
the custody of the mother.Mrs.Mantello ran away from her husband and went to 
Tacoma with another man. She afterward returned and made up with Mantello, who 
did not contest the divorce suit.
