All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com June 15, 2008, 9:32 am The Oregonian September 18,1904 A quiet home wedding occurred at the residence of Vincent Cook,436 Fifth street,last Monday evening,when Mr.Cook's only daughter,Leila Ann,was married to George B.Maxwell,formerly of this city.The ceremony,which was performed by Rev.William S.Gilbert,of cavalry Presbyterian Church,was witnessed only by relatives and a few intimate friends of the bride and groom.The parlors of the Cook home were beautifully decorated with white sweet peas,palms, and other foliage.The bride wore a travelnig gown of golden brown etamine.It was a very stylish and pretty suit,and the brown hat worn with it was also very becoming. After the ceremony an elaborate supper was served.Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell left the same evening for Sterling City,Cal.,where Mr. Maxwell is superinendent of the mill and factory of the Diamond Match Company.Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell are well known in this city,both being members of prominent Portland families.They are both graduates of the Portland Academy.
