Morning Oregonian October 23,1904
The first wedding in the new Catholic Church at Portsmouth was solemnized 
Saturday morning,October 8,by Rev. Father Thilman, when Miss Lucile Horton and 
Burton H.Went were married.only immediate relatives were present. The bride 
was becomingly attired in a traveling suit of blue broadcloth, and was 
attended by her sister,Miss katherine . J.P.Cassidy was best man. After the 
ceremony a delicious wedding breakfast was served at the reasidence of the 
bride's parents. The decorations were Autumn leaves and sweet peas. The groom 
is the son o f Mr. and Mrs.William Went,old residents of this city. The bride 
is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Horton,of St.Johns,formerly of 
The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs.Went will be at home after november 1,at 325 Twelfth 
street.
