A wedding of much widespread interest took place October 22,in Grace 
church,New York,when Miss Madeline Johnson,only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Davis 
Johnson,became the wife of Mr.Lyle Mahan,son of Captain Alfred 
T.Mahan,U.S.N.,retired.Captain Mahan is a recognized authority on naval 
history,andhis book on the growth of of our sea power is said to have inspired 
in the heart of every Britisher a desire for a "Greater Navy For England" 
which has brought about the beginning of a recognition of the British Navy 
within recent years.
