Oregonian April 9,1893
A quiet wedding occurred on Friday afternoon at the reswidence of Dr.J.O. 
Roggs,corner of Sixth and Clay streets,the contracting parties being Miss Emma 
Riggs and Mr.A.W.Childs,both of Salem,Rev.David Wetzel,of the Christian church 
performed the ceremony.After partaking of a sumptuos wedding repast the happy 
couple took their departue for Los Angeles,their fututre home.Miss Riggs is 
the youngest daughter of Rufus A.Riggs,an old and highly respeted citizen of 
Salem,and Mr. Childs has been for the past four years a prosperous insurance 
man of the same place. The socierty of the capital city by this change of 
residence two of its more popular members.
