Oregonian April 16,1893
A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday evening last,at the church 
of St.Lawrence,Rev.B.Prth officiating.The contracting parties were Mr.Edward 
H.Fitzgibbons,formerly of Aurora,Ill., and Miss Theresa Rogers,daughter of 
T.Rogers,an old resident of the city.
Long beofre the hour set for the ceremony,the church was filled with friends 
and relatives of the contracting parties.Promptly at 5 o'clock the bridal 
party arrived,and to the strains of a beautiful wedding march,which was 
rendered by Miss Mattie Kelly,marched up the center aisle,the bride leaning on 
the arm of the best man,Mr.Nicholas BeutgenShe looke dcharming in a beautiful 
empire costume of white silk en traine,trimmed with lace,and bearing an 
elegant bouquet of brides roses.Miss Maggie Koehler,cousin of the bride,acted 
as bridesmaid.She was attired in a gown of fawn color crepon,and carried a 
bouquet of pink roses.After the cerremony at the church,the relatives 
immediate friends of the contracting parties repaired to the residence of the 
bride's mother,354 Harrison streeet,where a sumptuos wedding repast was 
served.The house was beautifully decorated with flowers and evergreens.The 
presents were numerous and costly.
Mr.and Mrs. Fitzgibbons left on the 7:30 o'clock train for Chicago and New 
York City.They will be bsent about six weeks
