A very pretty wedding took place Thursday evening,September 1, at the 
residence of Mr.George C.Waite,275 Twenty second street,North,when Mr. John 
H.Mitchell,of San Fransisco,was united in marriage to Mrs.Alice M.Waite,of 
this city,the ceremony being performed by Rev.W.R.Powell,according to the rits 
of the Epsicopal Church.Only intimate friends and relatives were 
present.Mr.Mitchell is a well known mining man with extensive interests in 
Eastern Oregon.The bride is well known in Portland,where she had many 
friends.Mr. and Mrs.Mitchell are spending their honeymoon on the Sound,and 
upon their return will go to San Fransisco,where they will make their home.
