Old Settler Dies
Independence<ore- John Quivy,73 yeasr old,long a resident of Polk county,died 
at his home in this city on Christmas Day.He came across the plains in 
1853,and has resided most of the time in Polk and benton counties.His widow 
and ten children survive him
