Considerable consternation was caused by the death of the infant son of Mr. and 
Mrs. E. J. Reynolds of diptheria Sunday evening, and the fact that the next 
older child, Merl, was sick with the same disease.

The Reynolds home being a little out of town and only a few having been exposed 
before the nature of the disease was known it is hoped that the closing of 
school and the giving up of all public gatherings will check any spread of the 
danger.  No other cases have made their appearance as yet.  The child still 
sick is improving.  Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds have the sincere sympathy of the 
community in their sever affliction.
