Pendleton,Or.,-Sept.12-(Special)- In an altercation tonight between Ralph Ward 
and Miles Kemler,he former took a shot at Kemler,but fortunately te bullet 
missed its mark. Te bullett,however,struck the horse which Kemler was 
riding.Te two had been having trouble over a financial matter earlier in the 
evening,and as Kemler was going home he was met by Ward.Spectators say Kemmler 
hurled a rock at Ward,who then pulled his pistol and fired.Ward then 
disappeared,and is not yet apprehended.
