Bad blood had existed for some time between the two men, a fence being the cause of contention. The shooting was the culmination of a fist fight between the two men in which Horseman was considerably worsted. McBroom died instantly and Horseman started for Pendleton to give himself up to the sheriff. The dead man is a brother of Mrs. Monroe Hicks of Weston.
