22 YEARS AGO

A party of young people of Adams started in a sleigh for Athena, but when they 
were within about two miles of this place, one of the horses fell breaking the 
tongue, resulting in a runaway. The young ladies quickly jumped out but the two 
young gentlemen, Ralph Wallan and Lyle McIntyre hung on to the lines desperately 
and were dragged some distance. Other than a few bruises they were not injured. 
The sleigh was a wreck and the horses ran on to Athena.
