Burton McKenzie, 58, of Tacoma, Wash., died there Monday, Jan. 21, 1985 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral Services were Monday, Jan. 28 in the Munselle Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, Milton-Freewater, with Rev. R.V. Kilmer officiating. Burial was in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Hackworm, Tom McKenzie, Mike Sissco, Darrel Hoskins, Mike Ditmer, and Ray Hoskins. Mr. McKenzie was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Milton-Freewater to Winfred and Winnie Beaumont McKenzie. He contracted polio when he was 10 months old. Mr. McKenzie was educated at Umapine and Central grade schools and McLoughlin Union High School. He Worked as a mechanic at Walla Walla Airport and Lusk Brake Shop. He was also employed at Goodwill Industries, Walla Walla. Mr. McKenzie moved to Tacoma in 1978 to be near his son, Jack McKenzie. Survivors include his son, Jack of Tacoma; a sister, Irene Barnes of Milton-Freewater; two brothers Irvan McKenzie of Hermiston and Thomas McKenzie of Walla Walla; and two grandchildren. His brother, Cecil McKenzie, died on 1978. Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
