Tucker, 72 of East Appleton Road, Milton-Freewater, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 1985 at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston, Ore. Memorial services were Tuesday, Jan. 29 in the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, Milton-Freewater. The Rev. Edward Morrison of the Ingle Chapel Congregational Church officiated. Mr. Tucker was born March 14, 1912, in Weyburn, Sascatchewan, Canada, to Claude and Margaret Sindt Tucker. He moved to the United States in a covered wagon with his family when he was 2 years old. He attended schools in Montana. and Minnesota. For the next 38 years Mr. Tucker worked for the Great Northern Railroad. He married Viola Warnock in Umapine on March 16, 1968. The couple lived in Hermiston from 1968 to 1972 where Mr. Tucker worked as a custodian at the Good Shepherd Hospital. In 1972 they moved to Waitsburg where he did construction work. They then moved to Lakeview, Ore., where he was supervisor of maintenance for the school district there. The Tuckers came to Milton-Freewater in 1975. Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife at the home, a son Thomas Tucker of Frenchtown, Mont.; a daughter, Marcene Tucker; his mother, Margaret Surring of Detriot Lakes, Minn.; a sister Beatrice Sharp of Detroit Lakes; three brothers, Vernon Tucker of Minneapolis, Minn., Louis Tucker of Woodward Okla., and Melvin Tucker of Jefferson, Wis., and four grandchildren.
