Morning Oregonian October 25,1904
Pendleton,Or.,Oct.24-(Special)- Thomas Vaughn, one of the pioneer stagedrivers 
of the West,died this morning from paralysis. he came to Oregon with his 
parents in 1842 from Illinois, and lived in the Willamette Valley until 1860 
when he removed to Umatilla County. he was engaged in packing between 
Umatailla nd Helena for many years,afterwrd driving stage between Pendelton 
and heppner. He leaves five sons and a daughter.
