Eloise L. Hollingshead

La Grande

1944-2010

Eloise Leonora Hollingshead, 86, of La Grande and formerly of Tillamook, died
May 24 at Grande Ronde Hospital. At her request there will be no public
services. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation and Life Celebration Center is in
charge of arrangements.

Eloise was born March 21, 1924, to Mark and Melba (Adams) Whitnah in Beaver
Crossing, Neb. After high school she graduated from business school .

On Feb. 27, 1944, she married Marvin Franklin Hollingshead in Lincoln, Neb.
Following her husband’s death in 1990, in order to be closer to her daughter,
Lyn, and grandsons, she moved from Davis, Calif., to Tillamook. In 2005 she
moved to La Grande to be near her other daughter, Kayla.

She was a member of the Tillamook United Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping,
especially in the national parks, traveling around the United States and touring
with friends in a seniors group. Her hobbies included crocheting, listening to
music and reading. She especially enjoyed antiquing for vintage costume jewelry
with her daughters.

Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Kayla and David Komito of La
Grande and Lyn and Douglas Holman of Tillamook; grandchildren; and other
relatives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maydene Potrepka.

Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice.
