My great-grandfather and one of his sons died and were buried on the family homestead in 1909 in Wasco Co., Oregon. Originally there was a W.O.W. marker on great-grandfather's grave but over the years it was vandalized. In the 1950's a forest fire swept through the area and destroyed all evidence of the graves. The following are the particulars: Burials on the Morton Homestead, about 7 miles west of The Dalles, Wasco Co., Oregon Edward William Morton, Sr. born 24 December 1852, Ohio died from pneumonia, 4 April 1909, at home Nathaniel Richard Morton born 25 July 1887, Madelaine Plains, Lassen Co., California died from pneuomina, 26 March 1909, Wallowa Co., Oregon
