He was born Feb. 24, 1959, in Everett, Wash., the youngest of three children to Robert P. and Luella Mae (Dunn) Baunach. He was raised in Rufus and graduated from Sherman County Union High School with the class of 1977. He attended Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande for one year and then Portland State. After college, he returned to Rufus to work with the family restaurant, “Bob’s Texas T-Bone & Frosty’s Lounge.” He was devoted and enjoyed the restaurant and was well known for his catering and barbeque services. He was a member of The Dalles Elk Lodges #303 and enjoyed his family and friends, the outdoors, fishing, sports, his 1969 Chevelle SS and his beagles, Duke and Duece. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Marie (Kuhr) Baunach, Rufus; three children, Leslie Baunach, attending college in Ashland; Jeffery and Tonya Baunach, Rufus; his mother, Luella M. Baunach, Astoria; his sister, Catherine DeClue, Rufus; grandfather, Curtis Dunn, Warrenton; mother-in-law, Nora Ogle, Trail; father-in-law, Fred Ogle, Goldendale; numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend, Craig Colquitt, The Dalles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven in January 1999 and his father, Robert in December 1999. Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at noon with Asa Jenson officiating. Interment will follow at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery.
