The Dalles Chronicle, November 1, 2005
     Doris “Elaine” Binns, 75, a resident of Mosier since 1986, died at a 
local hospital on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.
     She was born June 21, 1930, in Klickitat, the oldest of three children to 
Henry Darwin and Margaret (Beeks) Creason. She grew up in Klickitat County and 
attended high school in Goldendale.
     She married Ronald H. Binns on Aug. 29, 1948, in Goldendale and they 
ranched in the Centerville area until 1961. Doris worked in banking, working 
in Albany, Gresham, Boise, and Oregon City as she moved with her husband’s 
employment. She retired as a customer service representative at the Oregon 
City U.S. National Bank in 1986.
     She enjoyed painting, crafts, gardening, crossword puzzles, Home 
Extension and volunteering at the hospital and Mosier Grange.
     She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Ronald Binns; her 
daughters, Cathi and husband, Bob Dorroh, Cherri and husband, Rich Halligan 
and Margaret Hemphill; her son, Les Binns; eight grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; her brother, Edward Creason and wife, Jay; brother-in-law, 
James Lachine; two nieces; nine nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. 
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna Lachine and 
parents-in-law, Ollie and Louise Binns.
     A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held at 
Ronald Binn’s home, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. Private cremation 
was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway Chapel in care 
of arrangements.
