"Red" Black, 73, died Jan. 26 in The Dalles at the hospital. He lived in Arlington for over four years. Mr. Black was born June 12, 1913, in Wilton, N.D. He met his wife while working at a ranch in Wisdom, Mont., and they were married Sept. 8, 1950, in Butte. He lived for seven years on the Cedar Springs Ranch before moving to Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Helen Black of Arlington; two daughters, Sandra Guyer of Anchorage and Virginia Conat of Olympia, Wash.; two grandchildren, Heather and Nathan Conat; two sisters, Evelyn Wall of Eugene and Naomi McKenzie of Sacred Heart, Minn. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazarene in Arlington, officiated by the Rev. Scott St. Mary, followed by interment at Arlington Cemetery. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
