     V’Ona Evans Blanchard, 93, a former resident of Mosier, died on Oct. 13, 
2005.
     She was born in Mosier on March 23, 1912. Her grandparents were Oregon 
pioneers.
     She was married to her high school sweetheart, Don Blanchard, on Dec. 23, 
1930 in Hood River. He proceeded her in death in 1991. They had two sons, 
Dwaine of Mosier and Gary of Corvallis.
     During their married life, they moved extensively following his work on 
road construction.
     During 1943 they settled in Mosier and she became involved in community 
affairs. In 1984 they moved to Corvallis and made many new friends.
     They enjoyed taking trips to see friends and relatives and many times 
they would meet at various campsites in the Northwest.
     She was an accomplished quilt maker and crochet stitcher and enjoyed many 
other forms of handicrafts until she lost her sight in recent years.
     She was instrumental in starting the annual high school reunion in Mosier.
     In addition to her sons, she is survived by their wives, Dwaine’s wife, 
Jo; and Gary’s wife, Marlene; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one 
great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
     A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. (standard time) on 
Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Mosier Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made to the Benton Hospice Service, 2350 NW Professional 
Dr., Corvallis, OR 97333.
