The Dalles Chronicle, January 16, 2004
     Joseph H. Blissenbach, 86, a former resident of The Dalles, died on Jan. 
8, 2004.
     He was born March 11, 1917 in St. Paul, Minn. 
     During World War II he served in the Army in the Pacific. He was a bank 
manager and vice president and lived in The Dalles, Baker City, Tacoma and 
Elko, Nev. before retiring and moving to Woodburn in 1981.
     He married Lillian V. Heinz in 1944.
     Survivors include his wife; son T.J.; brothers, Gerald and George, and 
three grandchildren. A son, Jerome, died in April.
     A memorial mass was held on Jan. 13 at St. Luke’s Catholic church in 
Woodburn. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospital Foundation. 
Arrangements were by Cornwell in Woodburn.
