The Dalles Chronicle, April 5, 2005
     Ana Gherman Bolos, 59, a resident of The Dalles, died Monday, April 4, 
2005 at her daughter’s home.
     She was born Sept. 3, 1945, in Bucharest, Romania, to the family of 
Gherasim Gherman and grew up there. She graduated from the University of 
Bucharest and was an agricultural engineer. She married Vasile Dumitru Bolos 
in Romania in 1966. 
     In 1977 her husband escaped communist Romania and began proceedings to 
bring his family to the west. After two years of legal battles and communist 
regime impediments she and her children joined her husband in Houston, Texas 
in 1979. While in Texas she was a researcher for Texas A & M University. 
     In 1992 she moved with her family to The Dalles, bought property and 
built a home. Her husband worked for The Dalles School District for several 
years before preceding her in death in December 2004. She was a member of the 
Romanian Orthodox Church and was devoted to her family.
     Survivors include her children; son Codrut (Kirt) Bolos, his daughter 
Monica and her husband Andy Carter, The Dalles, and grandchildren Wesley 
Bolos, Kelsey McWilliams and Lindsay Bolos.
     Graveside services will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at 
Saint Peter Parish Cemetery, the Reverends Joseph Kelbel and John Langfeldt 
presiding. A gathering for further fellowship will follow at the family home. 
Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & Burial.
