The Dalles Chronicle, June 22, 2005
     Genevieve Callis Boltz, 89, died at a hospital in Pendleton on June 19, 
2005.
     She was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on Nov. 9, 1915, to William Roma and 
Mary Amanda Allen Swearingen.
     She and her husband owned and operated two restaurants in Madras for 
years. She enjoyed crocheting, oil painting and flower gardens. she liked 
dancing and music.
     Survivors include sons Ronald Parker, Pendleton; and Jerold Barr, Tempe, 
Ariz.; stepdaughters Margaret Teach, Grants Pass; and Jill Randick, Leucadia, 
Calif.; brother, Donald Swearingen, Maupin; sister, Helen Bennick, Hermiston; 
grandchildren, Laura Reed, Michael Hancock, Ronald Hancock, Cynthia Clark, 
Steven Parker, Scott Barr, Tyrone Barr and Trevor Barr; 14 great-grandchildren 
and nine great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by husband, Glenn Boltz; her parents; brothers, 
David Button, Elmer Moore, Melvin Swearingen; sisters, Lillian Knight, 
Virginia Hanson, Willetta Smith, Margaret Johnson, Mary Libby, Betty Burkhart; 
daughter, Donna Hancock, and grandson, Shawn Barr.
     Funeral services were earlier today (Wednesday) at Burns Mortuary Chapel 
in Pendleton and interment will be at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
