Bornholdt, 62, died at his Mosier home where he has lived for the past two years, Jan. 19, after a sudden illness. Prior to living in Mosier, he had lived in Hubbard since 1971 and while living there he had operated a book store in Salem. He was currently serving as an economic development consultant for the Community Action Programs of Klickitat and Skamania counties. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Congregational Church in The Dalles. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, in Mosier; two daughters, Lee Catherine Campbell, Portland, and Ann Elizabeth Bornholdt, Salem; a brother, Jack, Avoca, Iowa, and three nieces. Funeral services were Wednesday at Smith Callaway Chapel with the Rev. Karl Vercouteren officiating. Private vault entombment followed at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
