The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 23, 1984
     Mary Paulina Bourland, 89, a resident of Dufur for the past 75 years, 
died Feb. 16 at a local nursing home.

     She was born Dec. 24, 1894 in Jackson, Mo.

     She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for more than 50 years, and was 
also a member of the American Legion.

     Survivors include two daughters, Zelma Elson, Redmond; and Margaret 
Busch, Bickleton, Wash.; four grandchildren, Laverne Lindhorst, Dufur; Robert 
Lindhorst, West Linn; Don Lindhorst, Orville, Calif., and Dorothy Hendrickson, 
Dufur; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a half brother, 
Ellis Bourland, Rowena.  Her husband, George, died in 1972.

     Graveside funeral services were yesterday (Wednesday) at the Dufur 
Cemetery with Pastor Asa Jenson officiating.

     Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital in care of Spencer, Libby 
& Powell Funeral Home.
