The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 13, 1988
     Howard Cassel Bowman, 78, died at a local nursing home April 25.
     A 50-year resident of the Hood River area, Mr. Bowman was born Sept. 21, 
1909.
     Survivors include his wife Martha Bowman, The Dalles; one son, William 
Bowman, Richmond, Va.; four daughters, Inogene, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Betty 
Jean Ridings, The Dalles; Virginia Harwood, Oregon City; Shirley Roth, The 
Dalles; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     Memorial services were held at Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
