The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 29, 1982
     William E. Boyd, 58, a resident of The Dalles since 1940, died Jan. 19 
after a sudden illness.
     He was born in Vale on April 9, 1923.  
     He retired last year after working 17 years as a parts man with Halton 
Tractor.  He was also a member of The Dalles Elks.
     Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Boyd, The Dalles; a granddaughter, 
Christy Boyd; four sisters, Winona Bausman, Seattle, Kathryn Booth, Hemet, 
Calif.; Anna Hiatt, Boise, Idaho, and Thelma Loftin, Waldport; several half- 
brothers, one half-sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were Jan. 23 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Martin Quigley and the Rev. Larry Kirby officiating.  Burial was 
at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
     Memorials may be made to the St. Mary's School Foundation Fund.
