Wakley iwakley@msn.com and August 20, 2006, 1:59 am The Dalles Chronicle, June 8, 2006 Robert “Bob” Deris Boydstun III, 67, a resident of The Dalles, died at a care facility in Portland Monday, June 5, 2006. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 17, 1938, the youngest of four children to Robert Deris Boydstun II and Chloe Jane (Baker) Boydstun. He lived in Salt Lake City until the age of five when his family moved to Baker. He completed his sophomore year at Baker High School before entering the U. S. Navy. He served on the USS Theodore E. Chandler. He married Ramona “Mona” Lee Harlin in Baker on June 12, 1960. They moved with their family to The Dalles in 1970. He worked in the logging industry for 25 years and also played music professionally. He then invested in his son’s company in Portland, and became an owner. He retired from Boydstun Metal Works, Inc. at the age of sixty. Besides playing music, he enjoyed fishing and traveling. He is survived by his son, Rob Boydstun and his wife Corissa of Damascus; his daughter Amy Latham and her husband Russ of B-Z Corners, Wash.; four grand children, Robby and Miranda Boydstun and Maggie and Wyatt Latham; his sister, Patsy Castle and her husband Mike, Burns; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona in October 2005; his parents; his brother, Jack and his sister, Chloe. Graveside service will be on Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at IOOF Three Mile Cemetery in The Dalles with Bob Guerrant officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
