The Dalles Chronicle, August 3,  2006
     Alfred Brackenbury Jr., 56, The Dalles, died Sunday, July 30, 2006 at his 
residence.

     He was born Jan. 8, 1950, to Alfred Sr. and Patty (Tucker) Brackenbury in 
Portland.

     He lived in Portland through high school. He raced motorcycles 
professionally, and was a truck driver on the docks in Portland. 

     In 1977 he worked for Farm Chemical as a mechanic in Dufur, and in 1979 
moved to The Dalles, and worked at the aluminum plant. 

     He was a member of the Eagles Club, and a member of the National Rifle 
Association. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing and golf.

     He is survived by his sons Alfred and his wife Franceina Brackenbury III, 
The Dalles; Brian and his wife Shannon Brackenbury, The Dalles; mother Patty 
Brackenbury, Portland; brother George Brackenbury; sisters Sue Waltsman, and 
Chris Riordan; granddaughter Anika; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m., at Spencer, 
Libby, and Powell Funeral Home. 

     Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles.
