The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 15, 1984
Arnold M. Brandenberg, 79, died Oct. 22 at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.  A 
memorial service has taken place at Wamic Community Church.

Mr. Brandenberg was born Feb. 28, 1905 in Banks.  He grew up in the Hillsboro 
area and moved to Gresham where he worked for McGill and Son Nursery.  He 
married Hallie McMurray of Portland Sept. 18, 1933.  He worked for 30 years as 
a heavy duty diesel mechanic for Asbury Transportation Company, Portland 
before retiring in 1970.

In 1960 Mr. Brandenberg bought a 45-acre fruit farm at Eagle Creek.  He lived 
there until 1974 when the family moved to Pine Hollow.

He was a member and officer of Barlow Gate Grange, and was a member of Eagle 
Creek Grange.  He belonged to Machinist Local No. 1005.

Survivors are his wife Hallie, Wamic; four daughters:  Marilyn Larson, 
Milwaukie; Nancy Mills, Oregon City; Susan Kenny, Bend; and Carol Gruba, 
Capitola, Calif.; one brother, Francis Brandenberg, Mountaindale; three 
sisters, Margaret Coupe, Bertha Meier and Lillian Carr, all of Portland; eight 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at Bateman Funeral Chapel in Gresham.  Burial 
followed in Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum.  The Rev. Daniel Elam of Wamic 
Community Church officiated at the memorial and funeral services.

Memorials may be made to the Wamic Community Church.
