The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 20, 1983
     Esther Fay Braught, 87, a resident of The Dalles since 1948, died at the 
hospital Oct. 13.
     She was born June 11, 1896 in Spencer, Iowa.
     Survivors include two daughters, Mari Johnson, The Dalles, and Flora 
Evans of North Dakota; two sons, Franklin Braught, Lebanon, and Kenneth 
Braught, The Dalles; 10 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-
grandchildren; and a sister, Abbey Irwin, Long Beach, Calif.  Her husband, 
John Donald Braught, died in 1972.
     Graveside services were at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin 
Riley officiating.
     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
