     Martha Bardenhagen Bray, 72, a former resident of Grass Valley, died July 
24, 2005, in San Ramon, Calif., of an intracranial hemorrhage.
     She was born June 23, 1933, in Grass Valley to Claus and Marie 
Bardenhagen.
     She attended Moro High School, Oregon State University and Johns Hopkins, 
earning a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in nursing.
     She married Dr. George A. Bray in August 1958 and they divorced in 1982. 
     She worked as a Red Cross head nurse in San Pedro Peninsula Hospital, a 
surgical prep nurse at Kaiser Permanente and in utilization review at San 
Pedro Peninsula Hospital before retiring.
     She was an avid RV traveler and enjoyed visiting extended family, 
children and grandchildren.
     Survivors include her daughters, Susan Bray, Danville, Calif.; and Nancy 
Bray, Danville; a son Tom Bray, Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and grandchildren 
Mariana, Mitchell, Daniel and Matthew. 
     She was preceded in death in 1991 by a son, George Bray.
     A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at the home 
of Milt and Patti Ketchum, 67408 Highway 97, Moro.
